3D animation project. Rube Goldberg Device100 Points
You will create and animate a Rube Goldberg Device.
The goal of this project is mainly to become familiar with the basics of animating using a 3d program.
- Plan out, on paper, how your device is going to work. Make notes on the shapes you are going to use and the timing that you are going to employ.
- Create your objects by using Polygon primitives. You will need to change their shapes as desired.
- Arrange the objects and compose your shots.
- Arrange at least three interesting events that take place.
- Start animating by setting very rough keyframes, just to get the main timing down, and then go back and make small adjustments to add character to your animation. Remember to keep in mind some of the animation principles like timing, ease in and ease out and squash and stretch.
- Add simple materials to your objects to give them a certain color or look.
- Movie should be minimum of 6 seconds.
- Render out as a 320x240 .mov using your compression of choice. Email the assignment through raustin@bcc.ctc.edu or deliver it on a CD.
