Update Your Profile

You can change your password, screen name, and other personal details by going into ‘settings’. This can be selected from the small box on the right hand side of the main page. Click here to find out more on how to change your profile settings.

Email Other Members

You can email other members by sending them a message. You won't see their email address (and they won't see yours.) but they will receive an email to the account they initially registered with – so do check that email account regularly – and if you wish, you can have it redirected to your normal address.

Junk Mail Filtering

If you’re not getting email updates, check your junk mail box - if the posts are in there, mark the sender as "not junk" to get it accepted in your inbox.

Email Notifications

If you wish/do not wish to receive emails when forum posts are added/updated, the Notify settings are located at the bottom of the “forums” page.

Organise Your Incoming Emails

Create your own Cherished and Successful folder in your email program (e.g. outlook) so all email automatically goes into that folder instead of building up in your inbox – and delete them once you have read them to avoid email burn-out!

Anonymity & A Safe Place For Sharing

Many women have no reason to want to hide their identity, and are comfortable sharing their personal details with others. This can be quite helpful when joining an support forum such as Cherished and Successful. The intention at Cherished and Successful is to help women improve their marriages/relationships aswell as ensuring that it does not turn into a gossiping community.

To protect Cherished and Successful from turning into a place of gossip , please avoid the following:

· Disclosing your real name – if you already have, please change it or rejoin with a new name,

· Your specific location,

· How many children you have, and what their ages are,

· Your/your husband’s professional field,

· Mentioning exactly which people you live with - if you live with an extended family, you don't need to mention exactly who is living with you, etc.

You don't have to lie about your details – just try not to be too specific. Remember that we all have problems with our husbands, in-laws, children, other family members, etc. and most people have similar problems that are not totally unique to you. While it is important that you have a safe place where you can express yourself, it is also important that no one else’s reputation is hurt in the process.

· You can email me privately so that I know your personal circumstances and let me know if you would like these details to be kept between just the two of us. Having said that, you have my guarantee that I will not be discussing your private issues with anyone third party, and I trust you to do the same about me and other forum members.

· The simplest way to have some anonymity is to change your name that will be displayed on the forum, and profile picture. Click here to find out more. – Remember your email addresses will never be disclosed to anyone unless you personally give it to them.

· If you feel you have already shared too much to feel comfortable about, you can start completely afresh, by leaving the group, and rejoining under a different name – all your previous posts and blogs will be deleted.

· If you want, you can join under two email addresses, sharing under one name and remaining anonymous under the other.

You can keep us all up-to-date with your successes by creating your own blog (clicking the 'blog' tab on the toolbar)

...is possible if other members are online. The chat bar is located on the bottom right hand of the window.
